Rent Or Purchase?
We are currently in the market for a new office space, lot to build on. Only thing is the cost seemed to keep going up and up and then renting started to look better and better. Anybody in the same boat? My partners and I were really looking to make this space a long term investment with our business as well as have space to rent out. I know that renting over a extended period of time isn't the best answer for us or is it? Can we swing the huge payment of a new office space to own? Does anyone have experience with Plante Moran http://www.plantemoran.com/industries/re.../home.aspx ? I came across their site and looks like they have the information needed to compile a plan of action with out all the unknown factors I'm stressing about currently.

RE: Rent Or Purchase?
If you want for the long term then you should take a risk once to buy the office or the commercial area, and after that if you don't want then just give it on the rant. After that as you said, price are going up and up then you can get the higher rant.

RE: Rent Or Purchase?
If you are interested long time Investment then you should Purchase your office, but in my opinion long time investment in real estate is not risky work. you can easily purchase your office and feel the secure and if you are not interesting in the same investment you take on the rent also.

It's all about upon your think. According to me purchasing office is the better option than take on rent. Because of When you purchase your office you will have made the long time investment and it's better for you.

RE: Rent Or Purchase?
For long term investment, it is best if you purchase the land. Renting will not help much in long term investing.

RE: Rent Or Purchase?
I think you should go with renting rather than buying. The main benefit of renting over buying is that while signing a lease may be required, you are ultimately free to leave. Buying a home is a long-term commitment and you do not have the same flexibility that renting allows, should your circumstances require a change in lifestyle.
